This one particular client is really successful, he is not struggling in his business. He has a great portfolio of clients and he’s financially successful. But, as his business grown, he just hasn’t had time to really step back from the business and start to think about what he wants.
And because he had a great business success so far, he also has tons of ideas bouncing around in his head. He has many opportunities that he could implement.
All of this comes down to that lack of clear vision.
So, how do you even start to think about creating a vision?
First, you’ve got to take some time out to reflect. You have to give yourself some time and space to think about your business.
3 Things a Vision Must Have
There are 3 things that your vision must have in order for you to be able to fulfill it.
- It has to be clear and it has to have measurable results.
You have to be able to define what success looks like to you. Once you fulfill on this vision, what is going to be in place that wasn’t there previously?
It’s tough to grow a business. Especially if you already have a successful business and you’re servicing clients. With the day-to-day stuff of running a business, it is tough to get the focus of growing your business when you already have one.
2. The second thing you must have inside that vision is that it must be exciting.
It must have an energy to it that it would really pull you forwards. You must want to dedicate time to growing your business.
3. A third and really important aspect of that vision is that it must cause you to grow as a leader. That is how we take the business to the next level.
Creating a Vision as We Grow Our Business
We as business owners, need to grow. We need to become more proficient in systems. We need to be able to communicate our vision to other people as well.
It’s time for us to become uncomfortable again, so we can grow and grow our business at the same time!
So those are the three things your vision must have.
- Clear and measurable results and metrics
- It must be energizing and exciting, that you know what success looks like when you fulfill on that vision
- Your vision must cause you to grow as a business owner
